welcome

Thanks to my pal at Didgeridoo Breath in Perth, I am the proud owner of a sweet new didge. Thanks for the lessons Matt. If you want to buy a nice dideridoo, go see their stuff.

Also, a special thanks to my tour guide and the people I met and hung out with at the Quiet Man Irish Pub over the Easter Holiday in Victoria. I had a great time.

Heading into Sydney today for the design conference. I'm looking forward to it as well as the pre party this evening. How often do you get to hang out with the guys from k10k and Australian InFront?

Me: So your x-husband never bought you flowers or celebrated an anniversary?
Tracy: "nope, never".
Me: "Not even when he was sucking up for something he did wrong?"
Tracy: (long pause) "He sent me flowers when I died".

(A few years back, Tracy's lungs filled with water and she not breathing for a few moments in the E.R. room.)

"Gee guys, I haven't gotten all that pissed (drunk) since I have been in Australia."

Several hours later I am regretting the challenge. We went to go watch some local heavy metal thrasher bands play at a local pub and of course Tequila shots were involved. After that Josh, a band member let us come hang out at his place for a party.

I apologize to anyone I came in contact with last night. I'm sure it wasn't pretty.

ow.

I started a detox diet today. It's a juice diet that cleans out your body from toxins and crud that hangs around in the system. My earthy friends recommended it and I thought "why not". While the benefits are promising, I don't think I am going to make it. It's been not quite a full day and I'm rather bitchy and finding it hard to concentrate. I want my caffeine and I would easily set any one of you on fire right now if it meant I could have some.

All work and no caffeine makes Beau ..something,..something.

Tickets are bought, room is booked, and flying back into Sydney on April 10th to go to the Semi-Permanent Design Conference. Great guest speakers will be there, looking forward to it.

I still need caffeine. And red meat. dammit. Don't be suprised when this weblog starts to resemble the "flowers for Algernon" book.

I just realized it's been about a month since I left Oklahoma City. I have also realized that it's been about that long since I have watched any television. I watched an episode of "24" the other night with some friends but they are several months behind on the programming so I had already seen it.

Made a few more adjustments to the site, mostly just getting some things to work right for various browsers.

I'm in a schlumpy mood today. Probably just need resting from all the activity.

Setting sail on a five hour boat ride on an eighteenth century replica tall ship, while nursing a hangover from doing tequila shots, could best be described as; not all that bright.

Still, I had fun. Pictures to come. There was mast climbing and rope pulling involved.

Thanks to some last second arrangements, several of us got to go see the Rock Aussie legend Jimmy Barnes from the band Cold Chisel play last night with VIP passes and a backstage pass. The place was packed with people screaming for Jimmy Barnes and I thought he gave a pretty good show.

In the grand scheme of things, with as many devoted fans to the man, it's probably unfair that I got the VIP pass since I had no clue who he was when it was offered to me. He's not heard much in the U.S. but I recognized a few of his songs, some directly and some remade by other artists. We took a disposable camera in; when I get it developed I will share the fun.

"I have no idea who you are man, but you ROCK" (air guitar motions)

Last night was pretty intense; a Tequila chaser followed every beer we ordered. I can remember at least four of them. This morning just really hurt, really bad.

I have no idea what got into me last night. Maybe it was the wine, maybe it was the Bacardi and rum, but I danced. I don't mean "hey look at me step back and fourth and look half interested in the music" kind of dancing, I mean I made a good spectacle of myself at the ruby room in the Perth Casino. I have no idea where it came from but last night, I had the music, in me (finger points to self).

Went out for St. Patrick's Day tonight and it was pretty much like every other night except some people wore green. Seems like just yesterday I was watching Vanilla Ice trying to act cool on stage on St. Patrick's day of past.

Tuesday night I am going to a full moon party where everyone just hangs out, gets crazy and does hippie things. Should be fun. Feels like I am going to hippie boot camp.

If I had to sum up what living in Perth is like, I would guess it's like living in Southern California during the late 1970's.

The French are in port here in Fremantle. A French sailor and I sat around and had a few drinks on saturday while I toured the port town. It was a little odd but fun at the same time. He looked like Bob Hoskins, the English actor.

Every time someone learns I am an American here, they ask me my opinion of the impending war coming up. What amazes me is that almost everyone here is convinced this is going to go nuclear. It occurs to me that we've done a good job at scaring the hell out of the rest of the world. I think most American's know that it is near inconceivable of us using a nuclear warhead. Not only would we loose all of the support we have now, but American citizens would protest in multitude. It would be a political devestation for the authorization of it's use.

I'm going to bed, it's late now, I have a lot to do tommorow.
