At the end of
the Korean War, there were a few G.I.'s that refused to come back home
after being released from POW camp. There was a scare in the govt. about
communist brain washing techniques. Harvard Psych prof Walter Murray
worked for the OSS and did intense brainwashing studies on students at
Harvard. Years later, the students were interviewed and felt humiliated
and still very bitter. One of the students in the study, the youngest
and most humiliated in these interrogations was Ted Kaczynski, who would
later be known as the Unabomber.
