Star Wars, Episode III, which is being released nation wide this friday, is getting a lot of posititive attention from critics and reviewers lately. Well, except for Anthony Lane from The New Yorker who couldn't have hated it worse if he tried.
This is what I hate about reviewers like Lane. If a majority of people are enjoying this movie and giving it good reviews then I have to wonder if his goal wasn't to hate it at all costs just to be the cool kid above the frey.
I bet he was the fist one to fall head over heels for Sideways.

You know, frankly, I liked Sideways. I found it a fairly honest, if bleak, look at ordinary people who expect more from life because they have a modicum of talent. Incidentally, my gay friends also really hated this move... not that I'm insinuating anything... :)
Well, at least your gay friends have enough taste for the both of you. :)
I didn't need the full two hours to show me how sad and boring these men were, I got the point in about 30 min.
Most of us expect more from life, that's why anti-depresants are so popular.
no it never got any better Beth - Sideways just sucked. I was on a plane over the pacific at the time so thankfully I never had to pay to see it. As for Mr Lane - he just obviously has not and never will, feel the force :-)

Sideways sucked! I love movies of all kinds, but i tried watching it twice and fell asleep both times. I never saw the ending. Did it ever get any better?
